This Septarian Egg is a deeply grounding and ancient piece, featuring a natural opening that reveals a crystalline druzy cavern within. The exterior carries soft earthy greys and taupe tones, while the interior glistens with fine sparkling formations, creating a striking contrast between outer structure and inner depth. The organic fissures and patterns throughout the stone give it a raw, primordial presence, as though holding the memory of the earth itself
Septarian, often known as Dragon Stone, takes its name from the Latin word septum, meaning "partition", a reference to the distinctive angular cracks that divide its surface into segments. These formations began their journey roughly 50 to 70 million years ago, when ancient sea creatures became encased in mud on the ocean floor. As the seabeds dried and the Earth shifted, the resulting nodules cracked and contracted, with calcite, aragonite and limestone slowly filling the spaces over millions of years. The result is one of nature's most visually extraordinary stones, a living record of an ancient seabed, held in the palm of your hand
